This page contains information about our 2017 district convention which was held on the 1st and 2nd of September, 2017 in Taupo, New Zealand.

About the Venue and Accommodation :
The convention was held at The Suncourt Hotel and Conference Centre, 14 Northcroft Street, Taupo, New Zealand.
Enjoy the stunning vista of Great Lake Taupo and the mountains of Tongariro National Park from this lake front accommodation and the spacious deck of the fabulous onsite restaurant and bar.  The venue also includes five function and conference rooms for 2-300 people.  Boutique shopping and the Taupo nightlife are only a short leisurely stroll away.  Suncourt Hotel is the ideal accommodation base for trout fishing, mountain biking or a golfing getaway.  Suncourt Hotel is minutes from the many Taupo attractions and activities including Huka Falls, hot thermal pools and four wonderful golf courses.  There are plenty of activities and things to do in Taupo, regardless whether you are into fast-paced adrenaline adventures or a laid-back relaxing soak.  This fantastic region has everything from scenic cruises to skydiving, mineral hot pools to cultural experience of the Maori rock carvings, dining to white water rafting.  When you visit, you’ll fall in love with this unique and breathtaking region they call Great Lake Taupo.

 PM Welcome and business sessions.
 PM Opening ceremony.
 PM Business session 1.
 PM Workshop 1 :  Formula/Communication.
 PM 2016-2017 Governor's address.
 Evening Formal function.
•  Recognition of the 2016-2017 team.
•  Division 7 Show.
•  Dinner.
•  Griffin presentations.
•  Fund raising for the District Foundation and the Kiwanis Children's Fund.
•  Dance with the 17-piece "Great Lakes Big Band".
 
Program - Day 2 - Saturday, 2 September, 2017
 AM Past lt. governors breakfast.  As it turnsed out, this was their last ever meeting as they voted to disband the Association of Past Lt. Governors.

 AM Address by the Kiwanis International Counsellor (Koshiro "Kit" Kitazato).

 AM Brunch at the Taupo Golf Club.
Registration Fees :
The full registration fee for all Kiwanis members or partners or guests was NZ$230.  An 'early-bird' full registration (paid before 31 May, 2017) was available for NZ$200.  The full registration included convention sessions, meals, Friday and Saturday evening functions and the partners program.
 
Partial registrations were available for evening functions, the partners program and for business sessions only.

The convention committee did an excellent job of organizing the convention and provided an entertaining and fun experience.
